Thornbury Family Room reimagined how Linda and Sven's family use and enjoy their home. While the house already offered plenty of space, much of it felt disconnected from the garden and lacked the natural light needed to make everyday living feel comfortable and inviting.

Rather than adding a large extension, the project focused on creating a small space that could bring more light, openness and connection to the home. Extending from the existing kitchen and dining areas, the new family room draws sunlight from multiple directions and opens directly to the garden, creating a welcoming place for family life, entertaining and time spent together.

Though modest in size, the addition will have a significant impact on the way the home feels. Brighter, more connected, and more closely linked to the garden, it will become a natural gathering place for family and friends while strengthening the connection between the home and its surroundings.
