Brighton east house

A quiet evolution within the home’s original walls

Brighton East House was a quiet, carefully considered renovation of a Tudor Revival home, an exercise in refinement rather than reinvention.

Without altering the footprint, I reimagined the internal layout to bring greater clarity, ease, and modern function to a growing family's daily life. Guided by a shared vision for a calm and cohesive home, the renovation focused on reconfiguring key spaces: a cramped kitchen became a generous, light-filled hub, the laundry and bathrooms were rebalanced with thoughtful storage and subtle natural light, and the once-overwhelming red marble fireplace was reframed as a sculptural anchor. Every decision was made with care for both the building’s character and the rhythms of family life, resulting in a space that feels composed, enduring, and quietly elevated.

It’s a home transformed not through bold gestures, but thoughtful ones.

“Alex was amazing from the first meeting onwards. Nothing is too much trouble and I trust her implicitly. She has a fantastic eye for detail and is committed to her projects. Couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome.” - Anna and Guy
